Why do we have emotions? What good are they anyway?
We love feeling positive emotions and hate feeling negative ones. Positive emotions feel good. Negative ones feel bad, so of course we’d like to avoid them. We’d like to do that but (1) that’s not possible and (2) we need them just as much as we do positive emotions.
